Scientists spend 30 to 40% of their time writing and reviewing grants, instead of doing research (i.e. discovering useful and actionable stuff). And the chance of funding success (i.e. ‘winning’ $ to do your job) is about 10%. “It’s soul destroying”.

Healthcare workers are exhausted. Hospitals are filling. Cases are skyrocketing. Not having holiday gatherings this year will insure your family members are healthy and alive to have gatherings next year. It will also protect our HCW who are doing all they can to help us. (6/)
